Hair Transplant FAQ: Cost, Recovery and Results
These are short answers to the questions patients ask most before a hair transplant in Cancun, from the free assessment and travel to recovery, results and cost. Each answer links to a detailed guide where there is more to know.
Hair in Mexico answers these questions every day for patients travelling to Cancun from the United States, Canada and Latin America. If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp or through the contact form.
How do I book a hair transplant at Hair in Mexico?
Start by filling in the free consultation form or messaging us on WhatsApp at +52 998 732 2204. Our coordinator reviews your case, sends you a personalised plan with an all-inclusive quote, and reserves your date once you confirm the plan. You can begin on our contact page.
How does the free online assessment work?
The free assessment starts with three photos of your hair sent on WhatsApp: one of the front, one of the top and one of the crown. The medical team uses them to estimate how many grafts you need and whether you are a suitable candidate. There is no cost and no commitment.
How do I get from Cancun airport to the clinic?
Fly into Cancun International Airport (CUN). The all-inclusive package includes the transfer from the airport to your hotel and transfers between your hotel and the clinic, so you do not need to arrange local transport. Send your flight details to the coordinator once your date is confirmed.
Is the hotel included in the package?
Yes. The all-inclusive package includes three nights of hotel accommodation in Cancun. Your quote confirms the hotel details for your stay.
How many days should I stay in Cancun?
The package is built around three nights in Cancun, which covers your arrival, the procedure day and the first days after it. The coordinator confirms the exact schedule with you when you choose your travel dates.
What happens on the day of the procedure?
On procedure day you are taken from your hotel to the clinic, where the team reviews your plan and marks the design with you before starting. The procedure is done under local anesthesia, and you are awake throughout. A session usually takes several hours, so plan to spend the full day at the clinic.
Does a hair transplant hurt?
Most patients feel the anesthesia injections at the start, then little or no pain during the procedure itself. Mild soreness, tightness or swelling for a few days afterwards is normal and is usually controlled with basic pain medication. Read more in our guide to pain during and after a hair transplant.
What is recovery like after a hair transplant?
The first week after a hair transplant is the most delicate, while small scabs form and fall away. Most patients return to desk work within a few days, and redness usually fades within two weeks. See our week-by-week recovery timeline for the details.
When will I see results?
Transplanted hairs usually shed in the first weeks, which is normal. New growth tends to appear from about three to four months, with clear improvement between six and nine months and the final result at around twelve months. Our guide on whether a hair transplant really works explains each stage.
How much does a hair transplant cost?
The cost depends on how many grafts you need, the technique and the area treated, so Hair in Mexico gives you an all-inclusive quote after your free assessment. The quote covers the procedure and the package, so you know the full cost before you travel. Learn what determines hair transplant cost.
How do I pay and reserve my date?
Once your treatment plan is confirmed, the coordinator guides you through a secure reservation that holds your procedure date. The clinic accepts cash, credit cards and debit cards. If you are interested in financing, ask us what options are currently available. See our terms and conditions for details.
Can women have a hair transplant?
Yes. Women can be good candidates for a hair transplant, especially when hair loss is concentrated in specific areas and the donor area is stable. Female hair loss is often diffuse, so the medical team checks suitability carefully. Read more about hair transplant for women.
Do you also do beard and eyebrow transplants?
Yes. Hair in Mexico performs beard transplants to fill patches and define the beard line, and eyebrow transplants to restore shape and fullness. Both use your own follicles, usually taken from the back of the scalp. See beard transplant and eyebrow transplant.
Will you follow up with me after I go home?
Yes. The team follows up with you on WhatsApp after you return home, and you can send photos and questions as your hair grows. Follow-up continues through the months it takes to see your result.
What is the guarantee certificate?
Every procedure at Hair in Mexico comes with a guarantee certificate issued by the clinic management. The certificate sets out what the guarantee covers. Ask your coordinator to explain the terms before you book.
Do you speak English and Spanish?
Yes. Hair in Mexico supports patients in both English and Spanish, from the first message through to follow-up after your procedure.
